Pentecost

 Pentecost

the Christian festival celebrating the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples of Jesus after his Ascension, held on the seventh Sunday after Easter.

Why do people celebrate pentecost?

The festival of Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks. In the Christian tradition, this event represents the birth of the early church.

Metaphor

 METAPHOR

A metaphor is a figure of speech that is used to make a comparison between two things that aren't alike but do have something in common. Unlike a simile, where two things are compared directly using like or as, a metaphor's comparison is more indirect, usually made by stating something is something else.

Here is some examples

1:“throw the baby out with the bathwater

2:life is a box of chocolates

3: Life was a roller coaster

4:its raining tacos

5:My head was fake

6.Hes as Smart as a computer.

simile

 SIMILE

What is a simile?
A figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid
example of a simile: She is an angel.
Simile is calling someone something there not like.. Max is as fast as a lightning bolt!
(But in a nice way)
Why do people use similes?
A simile is a figure of speech and type of metaphor that compares two different things using the words “like” or “as.” The purpose of a simile is to help describe one thing by comparing it to another thing that is perhaps seemingly unrelated.
But people also use them for calling people things (they can be nice or mean).

Personification

Personification

Personification is the attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something non-human, or the representation of an abstract quality in human form.

Example: As the leaf diving off the branch of a tree.

The purpose of this figurative language is to bring inanimate things to life to better explain them. Writers often use personification to make their writing more vivid and to have the reader understand the object or animal in a better way.

Here are 5 good examples of personification

1.Lightning danced across the sky.

2.The wind howled in the night.

3.The car complained as the key was roughly turned in its ignition.

4.Jackson heard the last piece of pie calling his name.

5.My alarm clock yells at me to get out of bed every morning.
