Blog Comments
W.A.L.T analyse our comments
Over the past week we have been learning how to comment on other people's blogs and how to do them. We have to follow the PTH which means positive, thoughtful and helpful.
I find it really helpful for young bloggers and people who may not know how to blog. It helps others out a lot and can inspire other people to leave comments. It is an easy structure to follow.
I need to work on putting more words into each comment and need to make sure I add more questions to the blog.
How can I do better? What do you think?

maui and the sun
W.A.L.T: retell one of the Maori legends.
Pentecost
Pentecost
the Christian festival celebrating the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples of Jesus after his Ascension, held on the seventh Sunday after Easter.
Why do people celebrate pentecost?
The festival of Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks. In the Christian tradition, this event represents the birth of the early church.
Metaphor
METAPHOR
A metaphor is a figure of speech that is used to make a comparison between two things that aren't alike but do have something in common. Unlike a simile, where two things are compared directly using like or as, a metaphor's comparison is more indirect, usually made by stating something is something else.
Here is some examples
1:“throw the baby out with the bathwater
2:life is a box of chocolates
3: Life was a roller coaster
4:its raining tacos
5:My head was fake
6.Hes as Smart as a computer.
simile
SIMILE
Personification
Personification
Personification is the attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something non-human, or the representation of an abstract quality in human form.
Example: As the leaf diving off the branch of a tree.
The purpose of this figurative language is to bring inanimate things to life to better explain them. Writers often use personification to make their writing more vivid and to have the reader understand the object or animal in a better way.
Here are 5 good examples of personification
1.Lightning danced across the sky.
2.The wind howled in the night.
3.The car complained as the key was roughly turned in its ignition.
4.Jackson heard the last piece of pie calling his name.
5.My alarm clock yells at me to get out of bed every morning.

Around two weeks ago the year 8 went to Wellington and on the last day before we went back to Christchurch we went to Capital E! Well what is Capital E you say well it is an studio for young people and you can go there now so you can be like a news reporter and do scripts and it real cool stuff with real equipment and green screens and its really cool.
In Capital E we did amazing stuff like be reporters and be camera men/women also you can dress up and look stupid , funny or cool.
All my friends were looking kinda silly and i was looking... pretty stupid and there where sounds and even different rooms so when we were all ready the camera was ready axl and trinity were doing there scrips and we each had our own parts to do.
And sooner or later we had to go and pack up and put all the costumes back sadly.

Easter Sunday
Today we are learning about Easter Sunday
OK now here is the quick version of Easter so...
Jesus had died on the cross and was beaten up really bad then Jesus was put into a tomb guarded by 2 Roman guards protecting Jesus body the time pasted a storm came and scared the guards from their posts. The next morning the tomb was empty as 3 young women came down to worship Jesus (even when hes dead) BUT then the tomb door was open and Jesus body was gone. Then they were in shock and so they peaked into the tomb and saw that there was no body!? and they were very confused on what was going on at that moment and then a blinding light came down and then two bright clean looking angel and he said... Jesus has risen from the dead and your sins shall be forgiven but sadly Jesus will not be with us physically but he will be with us in spirit.
Then the two angels disappeared into heaven above in the clouds of happiness and kindness/ Heaven
then the young women raced to Jesus dispels and said Jesus has risen from the dead and as soon they could say anything else Jesus walked in and scared the disciples and said to them i have risen from the dead and showed them the holes in his hands and so that gave the proof to believe that Jesus has risen and everyone sins are forgiven and then everyone has a chance to love and care :)
And with my feelings i feel sad , angry and confused i mean they killed the one and only son of god and he could heal you from your sickness but they just got rid of him and so i think it was one of the worst mistake in history and i'm still so angry as i'm smacking my keyboard in anger >:(
hello and this is my animation of Easter Sunday
Hope you enjoy it:)
can you hive me any advice on this video that i have made.
Do you still know what Easter Sunday is?

School surfing trip!
W.A.L.T : Write a recount a memorable experience or moment.
It was one of the best things that happened to me and guess what i did i... Stood up on a surfboard and i think it is awesome and breathtaking and pretty cool riding the waves man yeah RAD!.
As I was just thinking about it makes me wanna do it again and again and again and not stopping ripping the waves up dude and so we did this to good of a trip at Brighton beach in the morning on Wednesday and as we walk over I got more and more excited and I could not keep still cause i was so excited about SURFING!!!.
As we were listing to the instructor about the safety rules and rips
and so I was going to explode cause i wanna go surfing!!!
Whoop Whoop!
As we finally got into the water my feet were ice blocks the water was so cold BUT thanks to the wet suits given with short sleeve and so i was awesome and i had been able to stand up and surf man.
and then this massive wave zipped pasted me and then pulled my board so hard out of my hands and then the string that is attached to the board and me it pulled it so hard then i tripped over and face platted on the salty water and it gave a heck of a fright and some got up my nose! and as i stood up out of the salty rough water then a surf board came out of nowhere and hit me in the stomach oh it hurt (a lot).
And then the instituters blew the whistle and then we had to swap with the other group who was also very excited and then we ate our lunch then decided to mess around in the playground we went on the swings pushing each other to space,we also went on the bigger swing pushing each other to not space but to Mars
Then they were also called in then we had to go down back to school and that is where we did boring and a bit of fun stuff:)
Oh and here's a Question for you do you want to go surfing or do you go surfing?

Peter and the wolf at the Symphony Orchestra.
Positives
I thought is was
a amazing, breathtaking experience
listing to the orchestra or/ peter and the wolf
with these amazing instruments play the one character each
instruments
Clarinet playing the cat, french horn play the big bad wolf lurking in the woods,
, and the flute for the bid chirping all around, strings play peter messing around in the big dark meadow
, the bassoon playing grandfather.
,Drums playing the shotguns of the hunters
,and last but not least the oboe play the duck.
Emotion
My emotion was think to myself as if i was in a movie like wanting to know what happens next in the music
and when the wolf comes i go to my self no dang the wolf and it scares me oh the dramatic music make me jump and i go oh no even though I may have seen it so much and heard it so much times i still jump
and think about when what happens next and i feel scared and ready for the next thing to happen and my favourite instrument is the cat/clarinet cause when it plays i feel that the cat is going to be very sneaky on his velvet paws.
Creative
I think it was a amazing how someone had come up with all of this music for this one little story about a boy named peter.
and how it was made with all of this dramatic music using all of the characters and the person who made the music was just as famous as the story by the story had come out many years before the music its just that someone was inspired of the story and thought it would be cool with some music
and i think it is a awesome idea and i'm glad that the person made some music for the story other wise it would be a bit boring i mean no music is not OK with these kind of story's.
and when the wolf comes it has big dark and low notes and with the music i like how it gives you story in you head with just music like low notes for the dark times and the high notes is the good times
and is just me is that pretty CREATIVE or not.
